Choose your own mix of new questions and review

Use the practice balance in Settings to make room for unfamiliar questions or return to ones you’ve already tried.

2 min read

Some days you want to cover more of the question bank. Other days you want to spend time on things you’ve already tried.

I’ve added a setting that lets you choose the mix of new questions and review in your practice sessions.

Set a balance for your next session

Open Settings and look for Practice Card Balance. Move the slider to choose how many of the 10 practice questions should be new.

The numbers show your choice: five new questions leaves room for five you’ve seen before. A higher number of new questions puts more of the session towards unfamiliar material. A lower number leaves more room for review.

The app saves your preference for later sessions. The mix also depends on how many new and previously seen questions you have available.

Match it to what you want to do today

Try a middle setting if you’d like to keep covering new material while returning to older questions.

If you’re early in your preparation and many topics are unfamiliar, you may prefer more new questions. If you want another look at material you’ve already covered, leave more space for review.

You can change your choice as your preparation goes on. Try a session, see how it feels, and adjust the balance next time if you need to.

I hope this gives you a little more control over how you spend your study time.

Choose your practice balance.
